Multi-Vehicle Accident Injures 4 along the I-95

car accidentIn Stafford County, Virginia, Trooper K.J. Zalasar was injured in a multi-vehicle accident along the I-95. Zalasar was stopped on the right, southbound shoulder after having pulled over the driver of an Audi when two other vehicles, driving recklessly, caused an accident that injured 4 people. None of the injuries were life-threatening, but still required hospitalization. The driver of the Nissan, Alexandra Seaman, was charged with reckless driving as was Christopher Johnson, the driver of the other vehicle also involved in the accident. Johnson, however, was the only party who did not sustain injuries. Seaman’s passenger, Amanda Brunner, and the driver of the stopped Audi, William Reynolds, were among the injured.

According to the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, 276 people died in multiple-vehicle accidents in Virginia in 2014. Motor vehicle accidents are one of the leading causes of injuries and fatalities in the United States and the legal complexities of such cases are often difficult to navigate, especially when multiple vehicles are involved. From 2013 to 2014, there were 13,591 speed-related injuries and 339 deaths related to speeding. Reckless driving, as demonstrated in this case, can have a major impact on surrounding vehicles, causing a terrible chain reaction that can harm those who are obeying the rules of the road.
